Volunteer

"Volunteers don't necessarily have the time, but they have the heart."

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Mpowerd. You are the most valuable resource that we have. By freely sharing your expertise, energy and passion, you allow us to fulfill our  mission to build a village that encourages, educates, and equips single moms to create strong futures.

When you volunteer, you’re not just supporting the needs of Mpowerd; you are directly contributing to the betterment of your community, your country and even your own life. You're sowing seed that always yield a harvest!

You may not get pay, but you do get BENEFITS!

1 - Purpose

Doing good for others can bring a feeling of purpose for your life. Volunteering can also give you a sense of pride and identity. The better you feel about yourself, the more positive your view of your life and future goals.

2 - Happiness

Measured changes in hormones and brain activity have shown researchers that helping others brings pleasure. Human beings are hard-wired to give to others. The more we give, the happier we feel.

3 - Relationships

Volunteering is a great way to meet new people. You can connect with others who share common interests and also build your career network. and gives you the opportunity to practice and develop your social skills. You can also network and build relationships to help in your career.

4 - Skills

Volunteering can provide the opportunity to practice workplace skills like teamwork, communication, problem solving, project planning, task management, and organization while learning new ones.

5 - Physical Wellness

Volunteering can lessen symptoms of chronic pain and reduce the risk of heart disease. Studies show that people who  volunteer on a regular basis are less likely to develop high blood and have a lower mortality rate.

6 - Mental Wellness

Volunteers report having an overall increased sense of well being. They also experience reduced stress and depression, and increased happiness and life satisfaction

Under his direction, the whole body is fitted together perfectly, and each part in its own special way helps the other parts, so that the whole body is healthy, growing, and full of love.

(Ephesians 4:16)

Even though we currently do not  have  openings for paid opportunities, that doesn't mean we don't need help.

You can still join our team as a volunteer!  We need skills-based volunteers in areas such as administrative, program management, marketing and social media management, IT,  and accounting/finance.
